Cancer is one of major killers. It not only kills the individual affected, it kills the family and ruins the economy of the community and country. Many precious lives and Manhours are lost.
Early detection offers the Best Chance for Cure.
Cancer of the Breast & uterine cervix are the leading cancers amongst women.
This is a major cause of concern. Dr. K. Shantha Breast Cancer Foundation (SBCF), Trichy, was inaugurated in 2005 by Padmavibushan Dr. V. Shantha in memory of Dr. K. Shantha who fought breast cancer and died in 1995. SBCF has been selflessly serving the society, both in the Urban and Rural areas all around Tamil Nadu. The efforts of SBCF have been appreciated by our former President of India Dr. A.P.J. ABDUL KALAM.
A fully equipped “Mammobus” was launched in August 2012 by Padma Vibhushan Dr.V.Shantha, Mammobus has been a success story travelling across Tamilnadu, educating our women, doing Mammograms at their Doorsteps and detecting Breast Cancer early.
“MAMMOBUS 2.0 has now been launched in October 2023 with complete women care – MAMMOGRAM, PAP SMEAR, COLPOSCOPY.
GI Cancers are on rise across the Globe. In India, 1.4 million new cancer patients are detected (1.5 lakh new GI Cancer patients) are detected every year with more than 50% mortality. This is mainly due to lifestyle and dietary changes.
Early detection offers the best chance for cure. Endoscopies are the gold standard to detect early.
KGF Endobus on line with Mammobus will spread awareness, educate our people and take Endoscopy to the doorstep of the poor and downtrodden.
The KGF EndoBus would be a pioneering effort in this direction saving precious lives, adding manhours to our community and country at large. This will also help in significant savings to the family and also reduce the economic burden.
We wish that you join us in our efforts to make this world a better place to live. Together We Can and We Will.

The Advances in modern medicine is not only inventing newer sophisticated technology and equipments, but the same must reach the under privileged, and the scientific tools must reach the remote villages in our country.
One standing example is MAMMO BUS which was introduced long back in Trichy by Dr.K.Govindaraj under the aegis of Dr. G. Viswanathan Group of Hositals Pvt Ltd., It helped to screen a vast population and detect early Breast Cancer, in the rural areas.
Now it is ENDOBUS. Another feather in the cap of Dr. G. Viswanathan Group of Hositals Pvt Ltd., Due to irregular dietary habits, Smoking, Alcohol and Stress, Gastric and Colonic Disorders are definitely on the rise.

It is a privilege and pleasure to pen the following on your exceptional project in memory of your father, late Dr Kanagaraj. The concept of providing doorstep diagnosis for Gastrointestinal problems at the village and at smalltowns is praiseworthy. Your concept to form the Dr. Kanagaraj Gastro Foundation (KGF) Endo Bus is novel and is in consonance of providing the facility at people’s neighbourhood. Initially this will cover areas in and around Trichy and later spread to the rest of South India. Your proposal to invite local doctors to observe, learn and later perform endoscopies shows you keen interest in teaching. To provide endoscopic instruments, accessories, their maintenance and above all provide medical personnel to perform and interpret the findings. is challenging. I observe that you have the concurrence of the EFIAGES Board to recognise this as part of endoscopic training. Your decade-long, ongoing
successful Cancer Breast detection programme has given you the confidence to embark on Dr. Kanagaraj Gastro Foundation (KGF) Endobus. I applaud your vision and wish you all success in this endeavour.

The successful journey of Mammobus since 2011 has been kindling my thoughts on my passionate field of endoscopy, what we can do for the society. My few journeys to the East particularly Japan had made unforgettable memories of how gastro diseases particularly cancer is being screened among the general public. I thought the only solution for achieving this goal of early detection offering better Cure Rates can be done by mass screening endoscopy at various levels. So with the help of our well wishers like Fuji Film India and my teachers and dear friends, this was made possible in the form of Dr. V. Kanagaraj Gastro Foundation KGF Endobus. Since the Mammobus has been named after my mother Dr. K. Shantha, I thought it would be perfect to name this in the name of my father Dr. V. Kanagaraj, who has dedicated his entire life for the betterment of the community. With your blessings KGF Endobus will be as successful as the SBCF Mammobus

In a groundbreaking initiative to combat stomach cancer, Dr. V. Kanagaraj Gastro Foundation (KGF) at Dr. G. Viswanathan Hospital Private Limited in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, has launched a revolutionary program aimed at early detection and treatment of stomach cancer. With stomach cancer posing a significant health threat in India, this pioneering effort is set to make a substantial impact on society.
Endoscopy, a crucial diagnostic tool in the detection of stomach cancer, plays a pivotal role in this initiative. Dr. KGF has gone a step further by designing a special bus equipped with state-of-the-art endoscopic facilities to reach communities far and wide. This mobile clinic travels to various locations, providing accessible screening for stomach cancer to individuals who may not have easy access to health care facilities.
The primary goal of this initiative is to detect stomach cancer at its early stages, when it is most treatable. By reaching out to communities and offering screening services, the program aims to identify cases of stomach cancer in their nascent stages, enabling prompt intervention and treatment. This proactive approach has the potential to significantly reduce the mortality and morbidity associated with stomach cancer in India.
The success rate and outcomes for patients who receive early intervention and treatment have shown remarkable improvement. By addressing the barriers to early detection and treatment, KGF’s initiative not only saves lives but has also alleviates the burden of suffering and financial strain on affected individuals and their families.
In conclusion, the pioneering work of Dr. V. Kanagaraj Gastro Foundation in the fight against stomach cancer in India. stands as a beacon of hope for countless individuals and communities.

Endo bus is a unique facility wherein the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract can be studied for any pathology arising from them within this ENDOBUS having all equipment’s fitted inside the bus.
Many of the GIT cancer patients are presenting in the advanced stage of the disease especially people from rural area because of lack of facility like endoscopy available within their reach and lack of awareness about these cancers.
Our friend Dr.K. I know him for the past 20 years doing many cancer awareness. cancer screening and cancer treatment programs like Mammorun and Mammobus & Endobus facilities allotting huge funds. I am happy that this ENDOBUS facility can be utilized not only in Trichy but also in other parts of Tamil Nadu by getting prior approval by the members Association of Surgeons of India.
